Park Avenue Trail, Moab UT,
My first visit to Moab. After living in Utah for 25 years (my whole life) I am embarrassed to say that I had never been. Being with this girl that I barely knew, seeing all of these wonderful formations and red rock, it was an amazing trip and something I will never forget.
The end of the year is traditionally set aside for reflection upon the previous 12 months; it's fitting to take an inventory of the year photographically It is very hard to decide which photographs I would like to include.... I think this will be a very fun look-back!

It was a cold March day and we were wandering around a trail that would take us past the windows. I hadn't thought to take any under armor or at least a windbreaker. Still, spirits were high as we kept walking. Surrounded by all of the Beautiful scenery, and getting to know this beautiful girl that would later become my Wife, I didn't mind the cold at all.

After reviewing a handful of images on my laptop that I saved, I am remembering that I have been to some great places this year! If I back up a little bit from 2010 till 2013, my camera sat dormant in its case. I had so many other things going on that my creative side went away. As I started getting to know Brynn a little more I discovered she made the creative side of me realize what I had been missing out on. I was able to purchase a new camera and get my art going again. For that I will never be able to thank her enough for re kindling that inside me.

Brynn and I decided to go for a drive to catch the sunset on a ever fleeting summer's day. We got to the furthermost point on the marina and setup for the shot. She stayed in the car and I was out catching this brilliant storm through my camera. Just sitting here looking at this image on the screen, I can almost remember everything about that day. I can remember how I slowly watched everything line up for this shot.

Navajo Bridges Glenn Canyon, Arizona
In August I was selected to go on a Grand Canyon Rafting trip. At first I was a little hesitant with my slight fear of deep water. I soon overcame those feelings and had a Landscape Photographers trip of a lifetime. I had never felt more connected with nature then I did in the Grand Canyon. It was truly an amazing experience and one I hope to be able to share with the love of my life someday. I am so happy I have found someone that enjoys the same simple pleasures of life just as I do.

Glenn Canyon Dam Recreational Area, Arizona
As we set out on our adventure into the untamed I couldn't in my wildest dreams imagine the sights, sounds, and experiences that I was about to have. The photo above sums whole journey up for me.
I gather many topics from this photo. One being, whats the point of taking this grand adventure alone...... I hope to adventure often and with others. Also, this was the hottest and sunniest day of our trip and a unforgettable beginning. There were many proposals to build a dam at Bridge Canyon put forth throughout the years, until the idea was finally defeated in the late 1960's.

Portrait of Sam
I had met this photographer of over 25yrs named Marc and started to shoot with him on occasion. This has been a experience, I have learned a lot and realized what I need to. The day was mild with a overcast sky to filter the sunlight. I will always remember this photos because of the processing I did to get it this way. Remember these portraits are basically Photoshop as in, blemishes, wrinkles, skin tone, color, hair, eyes, eye brows, lips, and figure have all been changed to look like what WE think is perfection. The red brick and the yellow sky behind her makes this photo for me.

It was late November, Brynn and I were sick of the weather so we thought it would do us good to get out and explore. I do not see very many animals when we venture out to the Island. We decided to walk along the shore of Bridger Bay (North side). It was cold and cloudy but it made for a nice filter for photos. As we were walking we came upon two rabbits hiding out in the rocks and eating away the green vegetation that hadn't died off yet. I think I followed this one for 30 minutes or more before I was able to get down on all fours, zoom in all the way with my 70-200mm 2.8, and get this crisp, clear, photo of this curious creature. This event made my day!
